Thank you again to those who supported this campaign! I have some good news for you; we did it! All objectives were met and then some.
Eighteen semi-mature to mature wild rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) trees were found and there is hope that this land can be secured so Peruvians will have a constant source of seeds, essential oils were used to support the healing of many Shipibo and Quechuas, and essential oils and germane training were given to heads of Shipibo and Quechua villages, plant-medicine healers, schools, and communities, spanning central and southern Peru; the medicine and knowledge will help support the healing of 1000+ people.
As a result of this work, I am now in the process of setting up an institute that will support aromatherapy training and certification in Peru, knowledge sharing of aromatic plant medicine between North American and Peruvian plant-medicine healers, sourcing of, and clinical research on Peruvian essential oils, the sustainable growth, and harvesting of rosewood trees in partnership with the Shipibo, and the distillation and CITES approved exportation of sustainably-harvested rosewood essential oil.
